The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) was created to assist you in moving to a country for work or study where English is the dominant language. This includes the USA, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and a few other countries.
Components of the IELTS exam:
The four IELTS test components are speaking, reading, writing, and listening. The Academic and General Training IELTS modules are distinct from one another. While the reading and writing exams are different in each module, the speaking and listening exams are the same in both. Scores are given on a scale of 1 to 9 bands.
“One Skill Retake” declared:
It will now be possible for students who want to pursue an education overseas to retake the IELTS exam for a single module. This decision will be put into practice by the organising body starting in March 2023.
Students currently have to retake the full IELTS exam including all 4 modules order to pass the system when they are unhappy with only one skill score.
Benefits:
Students will not have to endure the stress of taking the entire exam again, which is fantastic news. They can concentrate on enhancing the one area that is necessary.
This choice could also lead to an increase in IELTS registration. Students hesitant about retaking the full exam will now be more confident since they will be given a second chance at a particular skill.
This will specifically be beneficial for students. IDP Education’s MD, Mr. Warwick Freelan, added that they have heard a variety of worries from the test-takers. The students ask for a second chance to retake the IELTS exam for just the one section in which they received a lower score. Students will have more flexibility in satisfying the prerequisites for applying to overseas universities as a result. Students have the chance to make this choice in order to achieve the desired band score needed for admission abroad.
