US: Application costs are significant, starting with LSAC fees and additional costs per university.
UK: Generally less expensive, primarily involving the cost of sending documents.


Find out about creating an LSAC account early, paying for Document Assembly Service (DAS) and International Transcript Authentication and Evaluation Service (IAETS).

TOEFL: Preferred for both US and UK schools; some US schools do not accept IELTS.
IELTS: Accepted by most UK schools and some US schools.

US: Usually requires two LORs, with one being academic.
UK: Requires at least two academic LORs; Oxford needs three academic LORs.

Raushan Tara Jaswal is the Deputy Director of the India Program at IGSD, where she is heading and implementing IGSD’s subnational work on the ground in India on fast mitigation strategies to protect the climate, including reducing short-lived climate pollutants and is also heading the Arctic Program. She is working towards driving investments for the sustainable development of climate-vulnerable states in India. She was earlier a Law Fellow at IGSD, where she was working on India’s Arctic Policy.

With a rich academic background, she has held positions as an Assistant Professor at O.P. Jindal Global University and as a visiting lecturer at the esteemed National Law School of India University in Bangalore. Complementing her academic endeavours, Raushan is a dedicated Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi, having successfully qualified for the All-India Bar Council Examination. She has been practising law in the Supreme Court of India for more than five years, specializing in public policy and human rights litigation. She has assisted Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Former Union Law Minister and Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court as an instructing counsel and policy analyst. Her legal acumen extends to Constitutional Law and Public Policy, primarily focusing on Human Rights.

Raushan is a trained lawyer, academic, and policy specialist. She earned her LLM from the University of Cambridge, specializing in International Law as a Commonwealth Shared Cambridge Trust Scholar.
