LGBTQ+ faculty and students are significantly more likely to be harassed than their cisgender, heterosexual peers. This results into an uncomfortable and an unsafe academic and living environment for the LGBTQ+ faculty members and students.

1) Tufts University
Tufts has an LGBT Center that provides a safe space for all students, faculty, and staff to explore their personal, activist, or academic perspectives on gender and sexuality. Furthermore, it encourages students to take various programs that encourage diversity and inclusivity.
2) Princeton University
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Center at Princeton University was founded in 2005 with the goal of providing an affirming, supportive environment for students to discuss gender identity, attend events, and receive support, advice, and referrals on LGBTQ issues. The university was one of the first that encouraged the usage of chosen pronouns.
3) Massachusetts Institute of Technology
For LBGTQ students, MIT strives to create a safe and welcoming environment. Students at MIT are educated about the diversity of identities and sexualities. Not only that, but Cory Hernandez, a student blogger wrote about finding the right housing for LBGTQ students at MIT.
4) University of Washington
Long before such rights were recognised by federal or state law, the University of Washington supported a culture of inclusion and provided protections from discrimination and harassment for individuals based on their sexual orientation. Apart from encouraging community events, LGBTQ students recieve special resources, advocacy and mentoring if required.
5) University of Maryland, College Park
According to Campus Pride and BestColleges rankings, University of Maryland, College Park is the #1 college in the country for LGBTQ+ students. It has an Equity Center which is a professionally staffed office for the rights, resources and the campus life for LGBTQ students.
