The global pandemic has had a direct influence on college admissions in the US. Only two institutions adopted test-blind admissions in 2014, and today, almost 1600 universities have implemented the same by either becoming test-blind or test-optional. Simply said, this means that schools and institutions that adopt test-blind policies will not take into account ACT/SAT scores.
Here are the top four test blind colleges in the US:
1. University of California – Berkeley, Davis and LA
The UC decided to refrain from considering applicants’ ACT or SAT scores until at least 2025 when making admission decisions for freshmen. The University of California will continue to conduct admissions using a blind application process. It is still possible to submit SAT and ACT results in order to satisfy the English requirement for course placement or for advice after acceptance.
2. California Institute of Technology
Your SAT or ACT results will never be taken into account by Caltech during the admissions review process. Your test results will be automatically concealed when submitted to Caltech if they appear on the Coalition, Common, or QuestBridge applications. The university also no longer requires SAT II scores.
3. Amherst College
Standardised testing, which can be either the SAT or ACT, is a non-required component of Amherst’s admission application for both first-year and transfer students. It only makes up a small part of their thorough and all-encompassing application evaluation process, which is why the university has declared itself test blind till the 2024 application cycle.
4. Cornell university
For the 2020 to 2024 application cycles, there will be no ACT and SAT scores required for the colleges of agriculture and life sciences, architecture, art, and planning, and the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Test results won’t be used in the admissions process for these three Cornell universities.
