A self-selected group of 24 British institutions with a focus on research makes up the Russell Group. Each year, they collectively instruct more than 500,000 undergraduate and graduate students. More than one-third of its staff and student bodies come from outside the UK. This number includes around 60,000 college students from nations outside the European Union!
Here is the list of steps you must carry out while applying to the Russell Group of Universities.
1. Pre-application research:
Research before applying to universities. Find the courses that are best for you after thinking about the colleges you wish to apply to. In order to make an informed decision, look through profiles and locate direct links to colleges’ websites. Once you’ve chosen a few colleges, visit their websites to look through the course catalogues. Keep in mind that in the UK, most bachelor’s degrees can be earned in just three years!
2. Give your Language proficiency exams
Students from outside the UK must often certify their proficiency in the English language as well. If you already hold a bachelor’s degree in English, for example, you may be able to avoid this requirement, but for the majority of people, this will include taking the TOEFL, IELTS, or another language proficiency test.
3. Register with UCAS.
You must first register with UCAS. UCAS is the universities and college admissions service in the UK. Note that you may only submit one application per cycle of admissions! Up to five courses are available for selection, in any preferred order. Additional limits apply to some programs and institutions. For instance, you can only apply to one program at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford.
4. Write your UCAS personal statement
This is your chance to show a little bit of who you are and explain why you’re a top candidate. Keep in mind that you will only write one statement that will be read by all the schools you apply to! Give specifics about your life’s journey, accomplishments, and aspirations. Keep in mind that you have a character limit of 4,000.
5. Reference Letter
You will almost always require a letter of recommendation. This might come from a teacher, advisor, or another expert who is familiar with both your academic and professional histories. A letter of recommendation gives insights into your work ethic and sincerity.
